It had been several years since their last family portrait and this was the first time, in a long time, that the whole family was together in St. Louis. I'm grateful to the Moonrise for lending us their lobby to take pictures out of the cold. They were so courteous and helpful! And thank you to Abby's sweet mom for choosing me to photograph the family :)

Snowy & Icy St. Louis Engagement Session
I'm so excited to share these images from Craig & Denise's engagement session a few weeks ago. It had snowed the day before and with the 45 degree temperature the day of the shoot, we just hoped that the snow would stay. I'd never done a session in the snow until now and it was just a great change of pace. Denise has great style and I loved everything about her outfit. She wore a dress but didn't freeze her butt off too much since it was in the 40s. While the sun was setting we finished up part 1 and headed to Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park for part 2. My plan was to get all night shots at the rink since they have the beautiful strings of lights hanging above the ice. They are not only new clients of mine, they are my friends. Craig is one of my husband's best friends and when he started dating Denise I was really hoping that marriage would be in their future because I, and everyone else, just adored her. So happy to get the opportunity to photograph one of the most important days in their lives.

This sums up Denise & Craig.. always laughing :)

Steinberg is unique to them because it is the site of one of their first dates. Denise taught Craig how to skate. And for this session, Craig bought Denise her very own pair of fancy skates. They asked me if I would like to skate too. I kindly declined, knowing that I would surely just embarrass myself.

Oh, the full moon.. the skyline.. the blue/purplish sky (I didn't have to adjust the color).. the lights.. just magical..

Forest Park Engagement Portraits | Allie & Matt | Film
It was a beautiful October day and Allie & Matt came from Columbia for their engagement session. I've fallen back in love with Forest Park, after getting a little bored of it. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, and their session was in the evening. Everything worked out perfectly. Allie is so adorable. She has a great smile and her and Matt were a lot of fun to hang out with. I even lost track of time. I shot a lot of film for their session, which is something I'm going to be doing with my 2014 couples for their e-sessions and weddings. I was thrilled when I received that e-mail telling me the scans were ready and I'm in love with every picture (thanks FIND lab). I love the digital pictures too and I've included my favorites at the end. Their wedding isn't for another year but I know time will fly by quickly.
